Ginger Brown’s Old Tyme Restaurant

Ginger Brown’s Old Tyme Restaurant in Lake Worth Texas was full of happy people at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.  I go inside and got my name on the waiting list. There isn’t an empty table to be seen.  As I waited for a table to be seated at people kept coming in. Now there is a line going out the door.

Ginger Brown's Breakfast

After 15 minutes I got seated in the back of the restaurant where I could see the entire place.  The waitress took my drink order as I looked over the menu. I decided to go with the “Texas Tripple!”  People, dishes come loaded here! It has two buttermilk biscuits on the bottom. Then topped with your choice of meat (ham, bacon, sausage, chicken strips, smoked sausage, or chicken fried steak) I got the sausage. The next layer is two scrambled eggs. Then crispy hashbrowns, and lastly it’s smothered with country gravy and topped off with shredded cheddar cheese!

This dish is delicious, but I couldn’t finish it.  Ginger Brown’s is reasonably priced considering the amount of food on each plate.  As I was eating my breakfast. I looked around the restaurant and noticed I wasn’t the only that couldn’t finish their meal. I took one of their famous cinnamon rolls home to my wife. As a child, she ate there. She said the cinnamon roll is still as tasty as it was back then.

To wrap this review up TX Foodie gives Ginger Brown’s Old Tyme Restaurant 5 stars! Go hungry, be patient while you wait in line because you won’t regret it!
