Derek Allans Texas BBQ

Derek Allan’s Texas BBQ is in the heart of the Fort Worth Texas Hospital district near the Fairmount – Southside Historic District. When I heard about this place going up in Fort Worth, I immediately checked out their website and social media for details. When I saw this on their website, I knew I was going to have to eat at this place, I mean I am the TX Foodie.

Every piece of beef we serve is from Wagyu (Tajima, Japanese Black) cattle only.  Our beef is rated above prime, all natural, and sourced right here in Texas!

My First Dine In Expierence

My first time going to Derek Allan’s was on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I got there right when they opened because their Instagram feed showed them getting busy and selling out by 1 pm -2 pm every day, and I wanted to try their Dino Beef Rib!

As I jump out of my truck, the first thing I experienced was the smell of BBQ smoke. That is what I consider to be some fantastic advertisement for a BBQ joint. Pro Tip – If you go to a place to eat BBQ and don’t smell or see smoke, you may not get the best tasting BBQ. I’m now checking out the menu I see “Dino BEEF Rib Plate” and remember all their beef is WAGYU! That’s what I’m getting, I said to myself. Each rib weighs about 1.5-2 pounds, and they are only available on Fridays and Saturdays while supplies las. The two sides I decided on were the Cole Slaw and Potato Salad.

Fellow Foodies, these Dino BEEF Ribs are by far the best beef ribs I’ve eaten in my 40 years of life. I’ve had ribs from some famous BBQ joints in Lockhart, Texas, and these, in my opinion, are the best! As you bite into these ribs, your “Flavor Jets” – Guy Fieri will start roaring because of the bark and perfect beef flavor Derek can capture in every bite. The potato salad (picture doesn’t do it justice) was good as well, it was creamy, and every bite of the tender potatoes was delicious! Lastly, the coleslaw was a perfect palette cleanser for the next perfect bite of the Dino BEEF Ribs. The coleslaw was nice and crunchy and not too sweet; it is on point.

BBQ For Breakfast

Oh yea, Derek Allans Texas BBQ is open for breakfast too. I went a couple of months ago before heading into work. Again got there right at 7 am and smelled that same BBQ smoke advertising. I walked in and ordered up the brisket taco. They were out of the salsa, so I just ate it the way it came, and let me tell you it was amazing. The eggs cooked to perfection topped with perfectly smoked wagyu brisket and cheddar cheese on a lighted, heated tortilla. I really hope these are in heaven when I get there!

To wrap this review up, I’ve been here multiple times while the food is absolutely fantastic; the service is just a great. This is one of my favorite BBQ joints in Fort Worth, and it is TX Foodie Approved! Let me know if you check it out by sharing your comments below.
